P & I Condition Survey

As part of the Loss Prevention & Risk Assessment programme, P&I Clubs initiate Pre entry Condition surveys / Routine Condition surveys to analyse the condition of the vessel prior / during entry. Alex Stewart Insurance understands in detail, the aspect of third party liabilities with special reference to cargo, procedures, documentation, crew related matters and pollution prevention. We examine risk, not only from the perspective of the physical condition of the vessel, but also with reference to shipboard operation and management, assisting the Clubs in minimizing risks.

P & I surveys are performed under the following circumstances of the vessel:

• Involved in a marine casualty,
• Found significantly deficient and/or detained by state port control,
• Files a substantial claim or has a substantial claim filed against it,
• If the Club receives a negative third party report about the vessel's condition.
